Virtual offices 'can assist profitability'04 August 2008
Virtual offices can promote productivity and generate greater profits for businesses, it has been suggested.
Many small firms are making use of virtual offices and more larger organisations are expected to follow suit in the next couple of years, according to Choregus.
It says there has been a large increase in the use of virtual offices in the US, which has been spurred by different factors such as technological innovations and the rising cost of fuel.
A report is cited which found that almost half of Americans work for businesses that promote virtual work, while two-thirds said they had worked in a virtual capacity.
Virtual offices were in the news last week, when an industry expert suggested they are an increasingly acceptable and even normal way of doing business.
Ian Fraser, marketing manager at the Institute of Risk Management, said the growing reputation of virtual offices is partly a result of the expanding use of mobile technology and email, which enable people to work from any location.
