City of London sightseeing attractions, entertainment, food & shopping

Mar 15th 2010

The West End might have a reputation for being the liveliest part of town when looking for evening entertainment, but the Square Mile has more to offer than prestigious London office addresses and the ‘nine-to-five’ of business.

There are plenty of mainstream sightseeing attractions: the Tower of London and St Paul’s Cathedral are among the most well-known, but there are many other places to go such as the informative and interesting Museum of London. Although not strictly in the confines of the Square Mile, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre is only a quick hop across the river and well worth a visit.

If you’re more in the mood for some retail therapy, the City has a lot to offer too. The restored Victorian covered market at Leadenhall sells some of the finest fresh produce in the whole of London, while at the Royal Exchange you can find some of the world’s top luxury retailers including Mont Blanc and Tiffany & Co.

For more down-to-earth shopping, look no further than Cheapside (located a short walk from our London serviced offices at No. 1 Cornhill) and surrounding streets, where you can find most things, including a variety of mobile phone shops, supermarkets, high street clothing retailers and more.
